Bhaktivedanta Hospital & Research Institute is a non-profit, multi-speciality, hospital providing holistic healthcare and at the cutting-edge of medical research.
At the direction of His Holiness Radhanath Swami, the hospital started in 1986 as outreach camps, and later was established officially in 1998 in Mumbai, India. Today, it has 300 beds and is a NABH Accredited Multi-speciality hospital. The hospital serves a population of about 1.5 million in Mumbai and is also responsible for various community initiatives for the welfare of rural and tribal populations.
What makes Bhaktivedanta Hospital unique is that modern medical technology and healthcare is offered with a unique integrated approach to Ayurveda, homeopathy and other complementary medical therapies. It is designed and structured to provide holistic health care for the body, mind and soul. Trained personnel from the dedicated spiritual care department offer counselling, prayers and meditation for the patients and relatives to help them face the trials of disease.
With 37 specialties built to international standard, and conducting several researches, the hospital strives to serve the society at large by delivering compassionate, holistic and affordable medical care. Moreover, the hospital is contributing to 8 of 17 SDGs devised by The United Nations.
The ultimate objective of the institution is to see that each patient leaves this Hospital with improved physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing, and with the feeling that the institution exists only for the patient and that the ‘patient is always the most important individual here’.
Bhaktivedanta Hospital firmly believes that health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.
There are four pillars that focus the energies of the project. These include:
H Health
E Education & Empowerment
L Livelihood
P Poverty Alleviation
Serving humanity by providing affordable & quality health care by offering free & concessional medical treatment to the needy sections of the society.

Pandharpur Medical Camp is mainly an offering of gratitude to the Dabbawalas of Mumbai and to the Warkaries (The pilgrims) who walk barefoot all the way from Dehu Road to Pandharpur which is about 250 kms.
Established in 1890 and dressed in a traditional white outfit and wearing the traditional Gandhi Cap, the strong army of around 5,000 Dabbawalas are the people who make sure that 200,000 people get their lunch on time at their offices or schools every day from home.
The Warkaries are devotees from across Maharashtra and nearby areas that walk on foot to Pandharpur, wearing holy basil beads and singing the glories of God. When they reach Pandharpur they bathe in the sacred Bhima River before visiting the temple.
Upon the desire of HH Radhanath Swami, the Hospital offers medical help for their simplicity and devotion. Since it’s inception it has screened over 639,149 patients.
